Ernest Khalimov Personal Life
Khaliyev was born in Grozny, Chechnya. He began working out at age 15 and was inspired by his older brother who was a competitive bodybuilder. His parents supported his decision to become a bodybuilder as they were both former weightlifters and had hopes of him becoming an Olympic athlete. At 18, he moved to Moscow and enlisted in a prestigious sports academy, but lost interest after two months when it didn’t live up to his expectations. Over time, he also earned several academic degrees. He speaks five languages—Russian, English, French, Spanish and Turkish—and has been crowned Mr. World Bodybuilding Champion four times in 1995, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
